James Court Bulkhead Reconstruction & Resurfacing
NYC DDC
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
This project involves the resurfacing of James Court from 104th Street to the Hawtree Basin bulkhead including the reconstruction of the bulkhead. The purpose of the project is to strengthen the resiliency along the edge of the basin. During storms, the surge manifested itself through water rising out of Shelbank and Hawtree Basins. Once topped, the floodwaters flowed out across the mostly flat community. The reconstruction of the bulkhead will protect the community from the damage of future storms.
This project involves the reconstruction of the bulkhead with additional restoration work being done to roadways, curbs and sidewalks on James Court in the Borough of Queens. The proposed work is to ensure the protection of the surrounding community and its properties while improving conditions for residents.
